Summer is here and it’s time to think about places to “Dock & Dine”.  Although some of you may be seasoned boat owners, some of you may have just purchased your first boat.  One things for sure “Dock & Dine” is a favorite yet sometimes overlooked past time at the Jersey Shore. Below is a list of Restaurants that offer a place to tie up your boat along with good summer time fare.  Although in some cases the space may be limited, it’s always good to arrive early if you’re planning on having dinner.  In many cases you will be able to take advantage of early bird specials as well as Happy Hour.  Hope you enjoy this information and take advantage of the offerings at these Jersey Shore “Dock & Dine” spots.

Crabby Jack’s at the Crab Trap – Somers Point

Tucked behind the famous Crab Trap restaurant is a quaint outdoor eatery known as “Crabby Jack’s”.  Serving some of the same fine cuisine as the Crab Trap and accessible by boat, you definitely need to put this on your list!  They open at 12pm and provide live entertainment 7 nights a week during the summer season.

Tuckahoe Inn – Marmora

Located in the small community of Tuckahoe the Tuckahoe Inn can be difficult to find by land.  But by sea they are located next to the old Beesley’s Point Bridge.  With Free dock space available, it’s a great place to stop and dine alfresco at their Back Bay Café.  They have live entertainment and a weekday Happy Hour.

The Boat House – Wildwood

The Boat House is a very popular seashore restaurant.  The view at sunset of the water and the boats just can’t be beat. They specialize in “Fresh Seafood, Steaks & Sunsets”! With a Daily Happy Hour, and lunch on the deck starting @ 11:30, the outdoor deck gets very busy during the Summertime so you might want to get there early!  Free docking is available.

Lobster House – Cape May

The Lobster House Seafood Restaurant is incomparable, with something for everyone. They have 5 food venues including a seafood market, take-out, outdoor raw bar, picnic area on the docks, The Schooner American bar & restaurant and the main dining room.  With limited dock space you definitely want to get there early.  The Raw Bar opens @11:30am.

Gilchrist’s Restaurant – Atlantic City

An Atlantic City icon, Gilchrist’s was established in 1946.  They serve breakfast and lunch 7 days a week from 6am to 2pm.  They have a beautiful awning and umbrella covered deck. There is indoor seating as well. You can’t beat the view of the water, homes and docks on the inlet.  On cool days the deck is heated.  Kammerman’s Marina is nearby for transient docking.  Insiders tip:  they are famous for their pancakes! And don’t forget “Meatloaf Thursdays”!

The Wonder Bar – Ventnor City

The Wonder Bar in Ventnor City has an outdoor covered Tiki bar with a small outdoor eating area. They also have a newly renovated indoor restaurant and bar.  They have a nice size dock to tie up your boat, first come first serve.  You can’t beat the view and sunsets.  But bring your sunglasses and hats as shade is limited.  They feature live entertainment several days a week.

Oyster Creek – Leeds Point

Oyster Creek has it all:  Fresh Seafood, Outdoor Dining, Early Bird Specials, Free Docking, Entertainment, and Happy Hour.  They also have a screened in Crab Bar that overlooks the Bay.   You can sit at picnic tables and crack open fresh Jersey crabs to your hearts content, while listening to live music.

Motts Creek  –  Leeds Point

Recently renovated, Motts Creek is truly a unique spot on the Jersey Shore.  The brand new covered outdoor deck is the Summer home to local bands on the weekends.  They serve mainly lunch and dinner items, reasonably priced.  You can’t beat the view at Motts! Free Docking is available.

Breezes Bar & Grill – New Gretna

Located in New Gretna on the Bass River, Breezes has a nice outdoor deck where they feature local area musicians.  Their menu consists of classic seafood items like fish and chips, fish tacos, and crab cakes.  They also have fresh salads, clams, mussels, and shrimp appetizers.  There is a nice size dock to tie up your boat, while you dine.

Pannini Bay – Tuckerton

Located on Tuckerton Bay, Pannini Bay is an Italian restaurant that offers picturesque views of the bay in an intimate, blue-hued space. They take reservations and are a BYOB. They have ample dock space to tie up your boat.  Hours:  Thursday – Sunday  for Lunch 11:30am-4pm  Dinner 4pm-8pm.

They were recently name one of the top ten best places to eat in and around Atlantic City.
